Great actors for the Battle of Hogwarts

We all know that the Harry Potter movies have been joined by many great British actors, many of which are considered teachers of acting. Imagine all acting together, embodied in a series of scenes. Add it to these scenes belong to the Battle of Hogwarts, full of action, suspense, anguish ...

Today Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley) has returned to update his Twitter to make known to fans:

At the hotel, excited by the films of tomorrow, but not excited about getting up early at 5 am ... 43 main cast members on set tomorrow!

43 of the principal actors in the various films will be meeting tomorrow to film scenes from the Battle of Hogwarts. With these ingredients it is unlikely that someone will be disappointed with the battle at the castle, we dont know exactly who will be running these scenes, but we can guess that will be all the actors whose roles are related to Hogwarts (students, teachers ...) and Death Eaters and other characters.

There is no doubt that David Yates wants to finish the Harry Potter saga in style, and draw on all the main cast to create an unforgettable final. We will enjoy this final Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part II, which will be in cinemas on 15 July 2011.

What about you, how would you like the Battle of Hogwarts on the big screen?

Warwick Davis explains Flitwick's different looks in Harry Potter films

From a question sent to him via Twitter, actor Warwick Davis explained why his character, Professor Flitwick, changed appearance from Chamber of Secrets to Prisoner of Azkaban and beyond.

Quote:
"Could you possibly give us an insight as to why Flitwick's look was changed for the third HP movie?"
So many of you have asked me the 'New look Flitwick' question, so I will answer it here, once and for all. When it came time to shoot 'Azkaban', there was no mention of 'Flitwick'' in the script. However, the producer still wanted me to be in the movie, so he asked if I would play the role of 'Choir Master'. Of course, I said 'yes'. When it came time to shoot 'Goblet of Fire', the director, Michael Newell said he liked the look of the choir master, and from that moment, the character became known as 'Flitwick'.

Dan Radcliffe to star in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying?

It has been announced that Daniel Radcliffe's first acting venture after the end of the Harry Potter series next year may be a revival of the 1961 musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on Broadway, reports Variety.

Quote:
Daniel Radcliffe will head the cast of an upcoming New York reading of 1961 tuner "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," marking the first musical turn for the "Harry Potter" star.

Producers Broadway Across America, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are test driving the project for a potential Rialto revival.
Dan is the only actor so far to be cast in the musical:

Quote:
While producers could not be reached for confirmation, the reading is scheduled for December, with no other cast so far in place. Sources said plans for the production will be worked out based on the success of the reading.
A summary of the musical can be read below:

Quote:
"How to Succeed" chronicles the rise of a crafty window cleaner as he follows the advice of a self-help manual to connive his way up through the ranks of the World Wide Wickets Co. and get the girl in the process.
More on the plot can be read here.

We will have much more on this, including when Dan will begin rehearsals and when the production itself will start in New York (assuming the read-through is successful and the musical will be produced), so stay tuned.

UPDATE: We have spoken to Dan's publicist, who has stated that Dan is currently looking through a few potential projects, including this musical. However, nothing has been confirmed, in terms of commitments to anything. More news to come soon.

Robbie Coltrane talks end of Harry Potter films & costars

While he promoted his upcoming made-for-television film Murderland (airing on STV, 9pm, October 19), actor Robbie Coltrane spoke about how the end of the Harry Potter series might affect not only him in a negative way, but his young co-stars, as well.

I regret the ending of Harry Potter for the obvious reasons of saying goodbye to a bunch of people with whom I've become very friendly over the years, but also because I will be giving up a regular income.You don't get too much of that in the world of acting."

As for the acting futures of his co-stars, including Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, Robbie said:

Quote:
"For them the conclusion of the films will be like leaving school, saying goodbye to friends and going out into the big, wide world.

"It's a huge step and it wouldn't be surprising if some of them, at least, felt nervous about making it."
Robbie will be featured as Hagrid in the final installments of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, to be released November 19, 2010 and July 15, 2011.

Happy Birthday, Dawn French!

Today - October 11th - Dawn French, the actress who played the Fat Lady in the Gryffindor House painting in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, celebrates her 52nd birthday!

Dawn French is not an internationally recognized actress, but in Britain is a model for many, many, and an elevation in comedy. I lengthened too if it began to number his roles in television, but has worked as a comic actress for over twenty years. He has also participated in numerous plays and films as David Copperfield (which worked with Daniel Radcliffe), The Chronicles of Narnia I and Coraline.

However, it has been nominated for six BAFTA awards (the most prestigious in Britain) as best comic actress, winning this year's BAFTA Academy Fellowship along with his partner Jennifer Saunders, "in recognition of achievements in the film world ", being considered the most prestigious BAFTA award granted to the individual level.

But that's not all! A Dawn offered HE Order of British Empire (OBE) in 2001, a recognition given by the King of England from 1917 merit for the United Kingdom, which declined by own ideologies.

Dawn is also known for her great figure and its efforts to promote the idea that a woman "big" can be beautiful. As a result, she has her own line of plus size clothing. In a 2006 survey of 4,000 people, Dawn French was named the most admired female celebrity women in Britain.

It is clear that Harry Potter has met its elected the best British actors of today, but not only in major roles. Dawn French is an example of a great actress who can play small roles in big productions. Congratulations again, Dawn!

Harry Melling padded out for role as Dudley Dursley in Deathly Hallows

In an interview with the Telegraph Harry Melling, who plays Dudley Dursley in the Harry Potter films, confirms he has begun work on Deathly Hallows and adds that he has even had to wear padding since losing weight. A new photo of the actor, which accompanies the article, may be seen here;

Quote:
Dudley doesn't feature in the sixth Potter film, so there was a long gap between playing the butterball bully in the fifth, aged 16, and shooting the seventh film, this year. In the meantime, he had changed almost beyond recognition, to the producers' alarm. "They did this double-take, 'Oh my God, we are going to have to do something,' and I felt very guilty. They could have recast, but instead they padded me out."
Harry also talks about how he first got the part of Dudley and how that changed his life;

Quote:
This focus on his career is, no doubt, the result of coming from a family riddled with actors. His grandfather, Patrick Troughton, was, for many, the greatest Dr Who. His uncles, Michael and David Troughton, and his cousin Sam, are all actors. His illustrator mother, Joanna Troughton, was keen to give Harry a chance, too. "She sent off my photos to the producers of the Potter films when I was 10, thinking I might be an extra. A year later I was asked to read for Dudley. When I got the part, I thought: 'Ooh, I'm in a film', not that I was cast as fat and ugly.'"

Wasn't being associated with the hateful Dudley a curse? "I kept quiet about it. Nobody ever recognised me."
He also discusses working on set with his on-screen parents, Fiona Shaw and Richard Griffiths;

Quote:
He minded more about not being one of the Hogwarts' children. When people asked him about the films, and what Michael Gambon or Julie Walters were like, he would have to say, "Dunno, I've never met them." But, stuck in Privet Drive, he did get to work with Richard Griffiths and Fiona Shaw, who play Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia, Dudley's parents. "Just watching them was an education. Fiona taught me a Caliban speech, which I later used to get into drama school."
Harry finishes by confirming that he wants to continue acting;

Quote:
Compared to Daniel Radcliffe, whom he once envied, Melling now realises that he was lucky not to be one of the Hogwarts' leads. His career got off to an early start, but without the irksome trappings of fame, or the danger of being typecast. "I can now shed the child-actor thing, like the fat, and start a new career, because no one sees me as Dudley."

Ralph Fiennes begins work on Deathly Hallows

Actor Tom Felton, who returned to filming Deathly Hallows earlier this week, updated his Twitter with the following:

Quote:
had a great day at work! learning from the best, its an honour to work with Ralph Fiennes, he's so professional and talented
Filming for both parts, Deathly Hallows I and II, is currently underway. It is unknown which specific scenes are being shot this week.

Tom also discussed his first day back filming from the several-week-long hiatus, noting that he had been doing a bit of harness-related stunt work (something he had been doing back in August, as well).

Quote:
still shooting! been up since 530am.... and still got a bit of a stunt shot left to do....wish me luck...my energy is starting to go!
Quote:
yes a harness..me and the harness have become friends now
